Nothing Stays the Same

Selected for the 2024 Tasmania Women's Art Prize

Nothing Stays the Same reflects my interest in the changing nature of the world around us. Through layers of colour, texture and spontaneous marks, I explore the movement and energy of a landscape that is never quite still.

As I paint, shapes emerge, disappear and transform, often taking the work in unexpected directions. I enjoy this process of discovery, allowing the painting to develop its own character.

For me, the work is about embracing change, finding beauty in the unexpected and recognising that nothing ever stays quite the same.
